Restylane
Restylane is an injectable skin filler. It is used to smooth lines, wrinkles and creases, to make the lips fuller and to fill some scars
Restylane is a clear gel form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It is a non-animal filler and does not require a patch test.
The gel is injected into the skin with a fine needle, adding volume without affecting the face's natural expression.
Restylane has FDA approval, and over 9 million treatments have been carried out worldwide.
Before treatment all clients have a consultation, and a discussion about how much filler will be used and where. A numbing gel is used to alleviate discomfort.
Most treatments take 20-30 minutes. Results are instant and last 6-12 months.
After effects can include redness, swelling, bruising and itching. Full information is given prior to treatment, together with written information to take home.
There are 4 types of Restylane:
- Restylane Touch for fine lines, especially around the eyes and mouth;
- Restylane for lip enhancement and wrinkles;
- Restylane Perlane for lip enhancement and deeper creases.
- Restylane lipp for lip enhancement
